Dear Mike,
When Chip Arp and I were writing up the final version of the AM Catalogue we took the opportunity to name a few galaxies (three or four out of 7,000) for friends (AM 9999-9999 gets pretty monotonous after a while). So "Robert's Quartet" is named after Robert Freedman who generated many of the updated positions in the main catalogue. Now you will have to find two other objects in the Catalogue ("Wendy's Galaxy" and the "Conjugal Galaxy") and guess their origins.

So, you see, even professional astronomers are human.
